Weight gain diet plan, built on home food
Gaining weight is not eating more of anything. It is eating more often, at regular times, with protein at every meal.
Nutritionist Preyasi Jadav and wellness coach Sayma, Fitness 365 Olpad.
A sample day
- On waking: a banana with milk, or soaked dry fruits
- Breakfast: paratha with curd, or poha with peanuts
- Mid-morning: chikki, roasted chana or a fruit
- Lunch: roti, sabzi, dal and rice with ghee, with curd on the side
- Evening: roti or bread with peanut butter, or paneer
- Dinner: a full thali like lunch, not late
- Before bed: a glass of milk
This is a sample, not a prescription. Portions depend on your own routine. If you have a medical condition or take medicines, your doctor's advice comes first.
Four things that make the difference
- Eat five or six times a day instead of three
- One of dal, pulses, milk or curd, paneer or eggs at every meal
- Do not skip meals; fix the times
- Weigh once a week, at the same time of day
